WHAT WE OFFER THERAPISTS AND STUDENTS

Opportunities for therapists looking to work with Wordswell
Wordswell is a growing speech and language therapy and assessment business with 5 current employees (3 speech and language therapists) and over 200 clients. There are potentially 125,000 people in the Eastern Region with a communication disability and 2-5,000 families appeal to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal each year in the UK. Alongside our employed staff we have students who come to us for clinical placements from Universities in the UK and Europe. Many of our students come from universities based in major cities (or indeed other countries) and it is quite different undertaking a placement in a rural area.

|
We also take on Assistant Speech and Language Therapists for specific clients and have volunteers who support us with specific projects such as organising our conference.
If you would like to join Wordswell and are committed to providing a high quality service for children or adults and their families please contact us for an informal discussion with Janet O'Keefe on 01954 253525 or email using the contact us page. We can offer you a supportive team, time and support for preparation and writing up case notes, designated time for personal study, mentorship, clinical supervision, continual professional development and regular in service training directly related to the needs of the client. When you join Wordswell you will be an advocate for Wordswell services wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

If recruited by Wordswell you are among the people who share our values in order to maintain our reputation and provide the highest quality of service to our clients. You will have a genuine interest in the work of Wordswell and find it interesting, a desire to be successful, the ability to embrace challenges and to take on new opportunities. Together we will build a solid client base by networking with existing and new professional contacts, running courses and talks, and nurturing clients. We will be honest with you, share our plans and excitement and deliver our promises to you.

After the first year your salary is calculated based on the value of the clients seen in the Spring Term (January-March) and is annually reviewed. A bonus scheme is being developed to reward on a quarterly basis those therapists who introduce the most clients to Wordswell and successfully maintain 20 clients per week (230 face-to-face client contacts per quarter) pro rata. Private medical insurance and a pension scheme are also available after your first successful year of employment.
Profit sharing and share options are available from 2 years of successful employment. We have a specific support programme in place for Newly Qualified Therapists who join Wordswell following graduation to ensure they are well supported to achieve their RCSLT Clinical Competences called The O'Keefe Programme.
